Sundance Horse Farm
Sundance Horse Farm had an existing website with a different Tech Company. When the owners computer died she lost a lot of access to things. She also thought that the updates were clunky and difficult to be made. Due to this we vetted out a couple of site options, considering price, ease of self maintenance and the fact that Sundance Horse Farm is growing in terms of horse shows and the Horse Trial they host in the fall. Knowing this a platform that would allow for expansion to continue with the needs was necessary. Once the platform was chosen a request for migration and redesign was asked. The front page was asked to house the same content and photos.
The owner specifically request a lot of photos not in a box grid on the website also including some new updates items. I (AM) Equestrians has been a client of Sundance Horse Farm and was able to recognize a lot of information in their packets they hand out was not listed on the website which could be great to have on their. Additionally, there were items off the previous website which the client no longer wanted available. This allowed for a lot of creative liberties within the website and the expansion of the website in showcasing events and implementing training.
Sundance Farm has an extensive site since they host national USEF competitions at least once a year. When I met with Kelly, the owner of Sundance Farm, she had some requirements for this site migration and upgrade. She was very clear about challenges for updating that she had experienced with the past site, difficulty with uploading and placing photos, navigating to events, contact information, documents for printing, lesson information and board information updating. She had asked the main site page to stay the same or as similar as it was in the old platform.
Being able to listen to Kelly and take her challenges turning them into successes was a huge win for us both. Looking at Kelly’s folder that she manually hands out to all new students, boarders, training prospects, I was able to deliver beyond her initial ask and help to reduce questions coming her way which allowed her more focus.
In total, I delivered over 13 site pages with very diverse applications and web parts to make this as easy for Kelly and her end users. I also helped prep the site for further growth down the line should she want to further send out email notifications, the site now collects these when inputted, the site can also track invites for events and even collect payments. When Kelly is ready to turn these options on they are all configured for her.
Due to her wanting this user friendly and her to be able to maintain, I created a how to guide specific for Kelly and her site to help her with being able to update it on her own. ( I am always available if needed also) I love empowering my clients to help them reduce cost for the long run which also helps with sustainability for their sites. Kelly has had thousands of views within just a few months and over 10 thousand within a year. Her site has been easy for people to also use and find information which has allowed her views to skyrocket.
